Friday Faves #4

Friday is here!

We made it, guys. I am spending tomorrow in a classroom for a CPR class (whomp whomp), but at least I'll be able to save your life if necessary. I also have TWO dog park dates with friends and their pups. That means Tucker is about to have the best weekend EVER. Hope you guys enjoy your regularly scheduled Friday Faves post as you count down the minutes for the weekend to start! Cheers!

**By the way, just so no one gets super butt hurt, there is a Game of Thrones spoiler about midway through this post. If you have been living under a rock and still haven't watched or heard about Sunday's episode, you may want to avert your eyes.**

1. Weekly runs + dinner with my bestie:

Amy and I have been getting together once a week for the past couple of months. We run, drink wine (sometimes champagne), and cook up something delicious for dinner. She's been my guinea pig for some of my dinner recipes I'll be bringing to the blog soon. These days end up being my favorite each week, because it's been great to catch up with my long-time friend, and enjoy some good food and drinks. It's also nice to get out of the gym and change up the scenery a bit!

2. Crockpot Shredded Chicken:

This was SUCH an easy meal this week. All I did was put a pound of boneless, skinless chicken breasts in the crock-pot with about 1/3 of the bottle of that sauce, and I cooked it on low for 8 hours. It came out SO good. The marinade is Whole30 approved, meaning it has no BS ingredients, added sugars, MSG, etc. You will know what everything on the label is when you read it. I found it this week at Publix, but I've seen it at Kroger and Whole Foods as well. There are a few other flavors including a citrus herb that I really like too.

3. New Kicks!

I love me some Mizunos. When I ran a marathon back in 2014, I trained for 9 months in the Wave Riders, and absolutely loved them. I switched it up (rookie mistake) for the race by ordering a different type of shoe, still Mizuno, but different style. They were not great. Fast forward a few years later, and I am back to those good old Wave Riders. I just wore out a pair of purple ones, so I ordered the next generation of them in this beautiful teal and navy color. I'm obsessed. If you're looking for a new running shoe, I highly recommend giving Mizuno a try.

Season 3 going to be epic.

5. Cold case at Whole Foods:

This thing is great. Sometimes people get caught up in the hot bar, and forget about this guy. Everything is pre-cooked, so all you have to do is take it home (or wherever) and heat it up. I get lazy and don't feel like cooking veggies sometimes, so I come here and grab some brussels or green beans for the next couple of days. They also have some great options for healthy carbs and proteins. It's a tad on the expensive side, but you're paying for the convenience of not having to prep it yourself!

6. Whole Foods salad bar:

Speaking of Whole Foods, this is a great option for a healthy on-the-go meal. This is an easy way to pack in your veggies for a quick lunch or dinner. *Note- because they charge you by weight, make sure you use the small dressing containers to take your dressing on the side so you don't get charged extra. Also, if you are weird about buffet-style eating, go early in the morning to grab your salad for lunch! They put this stuff out at breakfast time and it will be virtually untouched at that point.

7. GOT SPOILER ALERT! Arya kills the Night King!!!! 'Nuff said.

Yea, she's a bad bitch.

Not only do their donuts look like artwork, they taste INCREDIBLE too. This is saying something coming from a dessert connoisseur like myself. My favorites are the lemon lavender, the salted caramel, and the birthday cake flavors.

9. Hero Workouts. <Check out that link for a huge list of CrossFit's Hero Workouts. I've mentioned in earlier posts that our gym is doing an entire month of Hero Workouts leading up to Memorial Day "Murph." I am loving it so far! These workouts are super challenging, often long and grueling, done to honor people in the military or first responders, who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. It's the perfect opportunity to reflect on how lucky we are to get to workout each day and to pay our respect for these incredible individuals.

10. Endangered Species Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel

Chocolate makes everything better.

What are you guys up to this weekend? Any fun fitness adventures planned? What have you been loving this week? Let me know in the comments section below! Enjoy the weekend!
